The Adel City Council will convene tonight in regular session.

The meeting will begin with a public hearing to discuss fiscal year 2017-18 budget amendments. In new business, the Council will consider approval of three recommendations from the Street Committee. The first is an agreement with McClure Engineering for the Highway 169 widening project. The other two are purchases of a road grader and a crack sealing machine. They will also discuss a change in providers for life and disability insurance from Sunlife to Principal. Additionally, the Council will consider approval of pay estimates for phase one of the storm water utility improvements, for sections one and two of the project.

Other items on the agenda include: appointment of the City Attorney; equipment procurement for the Adel-Xenia temporary/emergency connection project; updating the 2009 comprehensive plan; approving proposed revisions to the 28E agreement between the City and Dallas County for road maintenance; and a resolution to be submitted to the State Legislature supporting the continuation of the backfill. Finally, the Council will consider approving upcoming events, including the Sweet Corn Festival 5K and the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office All Wheel Show.

The meeting will be held tonight at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
