stuarteggsFinal preparations are being made in advance of an annual tradition in Stuart, June 15-17. The Good Egg Days Committee is putting the finishing touches on this year’s schedule of events and activities.

Friday’s festivities kick off with a meal at 5pm at the Lawbaugh Park Shelter House, sponsored by Tori’s Angels Foundation. The Kiddies Parade begins at 6 through the park and the annual honors will be bestowed at the gazebo, including: Little Stinker/Stinkette, Grand Marshall, Citizen of the Year, and Father of the Year. Friday night concludes with a street dance at 9pm.

Saturday’s activities begin with an early morning breakfast and registration for the 5k at 7am. The 5k begins and ends at Lawbaugh Park. The parade starts at the gazebo at 11am and there are plenty of other activities and events throughout the day, which also culminates in a street dance at 9pm.

Stuart Chamber of Commerce President Kristy Lonsdale talks about some of the featured activities in this year’s celebration. “I think the biggest thing this year is we have a carnival coming. It’s a carnival with rides, (which) they’ll sell tickets for of course. The good news is we’ll have one free inflatable for the kids to use if they run out of tickets for the carnival. We have a game trailer, Next Level Street Games, that’ll have Wii and laser tag, and just a whole bunch of kids games and things that they can go play with.”

The carnival will be set up Friday night and all day Saturday. The weekend concludes with the free tractor pulls starting at 1pm at the Stuart Speedway. To hear more about the celebration, listen to Lonsdale on today’s Let’s Talk Guthrie County program.
