Both the Perry baseball and softball teams have made some last second adjustments to their upcoming regular season schedule which starts in less than 2 weeks. The Perry baseball team cancelled a number of non conference games and two weekend tournaments due to the lack of pitching numbers reporting to camp. With the state’s strict guidelines on pitch count and preserving a player’s arm, Perry felt they could not compete in a high volume o games like they have in the past due to being thin at that position.
The Perry Jayette softball team also shuffled their opening week lineup moving the Raccoon River Conference opening game against Winterset to July. The Jayettes were originally scheduled to host the Huskies on the third day of the regular season, Wednesday. Perry also announced that they have cancelled the home opener Tuesday night against North Polk due to a conflict in other extracurricular activities.
