Chamber updates begin at 6pm, the dinner starts at 6:30, and the keynote speaker takes the floor at 7. This year’s speaker is Steve King, the Deputy State Historic Preservation Officer with the Iowa State Historical Society. King will address those gathered on preserving elements of history.

Stuart Chamber of Commerce President Kristy Lonsdale emphasizes the event is open to the general public, not just Chamber members. With that in mind, she’s hoping this event will benefit the whole community. “We’ve invited people from the police department, the City, (and) different organizations to come and introduce themselves and speak. The business people that come can introduce themselves. Just a good way to honor the Chamber and the members and have a nice social hour.”

Cost for the event is $25, and can be paid at the door, though advanced registrations are recommended. Dinner will be catered by Linden Street Sweets and the menu includes: chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, and pies for dessert.
