Ben Nelson of Grimes was stopped at the intersection of Sugar Grove and 11th St., Dallas Center to turn left when he was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Karmen Smith of Johnston which her car was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Nicole Pitts of Grimes which was struck from behind by a truck driven by Cody Cook of Bloomfield. It was determined that Cook who was driving west on Sugar Grove did not stop in time and struck Pitts vehicle which caused a chain reaction. No injuries reported. Damage to Nelson’s vehicle estimated at $5000.00, Smith’s $6000.00, Pitts $9000.00 and $4000.00 to Cook’s. Cook was cited for failure to stop in assured clear distance.
