Over the weekend schools from across the state competed in Des Moines at the Iowa High School Co-Ed State Track and Field Meet. One Guthrie County school took home some hardware. The Panorama High School girls track and field team placed third in Class 2A.

Junior Morgan Johnk accounted for 21 of the team’s 40 points. She thanked head coach Greg Thompson after her second place finish in the 100 meter hurdles. “Thank you for helping us out all the time. You always have our backs and I love him as a coach. It’s great.”

Johnk also was a member of the second place shuttle hurdle relay team and placed fourth in the high jump. The other 19 points came from several events, including: the 400 meter dash, discus, 1500 meter run, 3000 meter run, 4×400 meter relay, and distance medley relay.
