Although the last day of school for Panorama students is a week away, projects still continue throughout the year. The main project for this summer at Panorama focuses on security. Earlier this school year, the district changed some policies on entrances at the secondary building. Though more changes are in the works.
Superintendent Shawn Holloway talks about a few of those changes. “We’re going to have interior (and) exterior cameras installed in our secondary building. Both buildings, elementary and secondary, will have a buzz-in system, so when you come to the front door, you’ll have to buzz-in to get in. We just really think the security efforts will help us just create a safer environment.”
He also says teachers are testing out different pieces of hardware aimed at securing classrooms during lockdown situations. The other main project this summer is the conversion of the atrium into the school’s library and learning center. Holloway says that project is on schedule and should be completed by the first day of classes in the fall.
