With 18 holes of golf left in the season, Panorama sophomore Kolby Shackelford is in the running for the Class 2A Individual Boys Golf Championship at Marshalltown’s American Legion Golf Course. Shackelford carded a two over 72 during Thursday’s opening round, placing him in a tie for second in the individual standings. His scorecard included birdies on hole two, five and 12. Shackelford recorded bogeys on hole one, six, and 18 and a double bogey on the Par 3 16. Shackelford, Sheldon senior Tyler Merely, and Dike-New Hartford’s Bo Weissenfluh all shot two over yesterday and sit in the runner-up position entering today’s final round. Kuemper Catholic senior Jared Tigges is the leader starting day two, shooting one over Thursday. Today’s final round tees off with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. from the American Legion Golf Course in Marshalltown.
