Dallas Vote

With the 2018 primary election mere days away, Raccoon Valley Radio would like to introduce you to another candidate running for the Dallas County Board of Supervisors.

Breanna Morman of Dawson is one of two Democratic candidates seeking the nomination for the District 1 seat. Morman is currently in her fourth term as the Mayor of Dawson, and she feels her experience in that post will help her as a Supervisor. She says her interactions with the other communities in Dallas County inspired her to run for the office, as she believes their needs aren’t being met by the Board. “I’ve heard many concerns and things that County residents would like to see changed or put in place. I’ve seen requests that have support of other mayors be rejected by the current Board, and those requests that those other mayors backed also had the support of many residents. And they would like to have a chance to vote on some of those things.”

Like many of this year’s candidates for the Dallas County Board of Supervisors, Morman says one thing she’d like to change if elected is to increase the number of Supervisors from three to five. She adds, that would coincide with decreasing the salaries of the Board members. The winner of the Democratic primary will face Republican incumbent District 1 Supervisor Brad Golightly of Perry, who is running unopposed.
