perry chamber

Starting tomorrow and running each Saturday in June, the Perry Chamber of Commerce is offering a free program to help people get in shape and stay active.

Each Saturday this month starting at 9:30 a.m., the Chamber will be hosting free yoga classes in the grass lot adjacent to the Sinclair Station on Willis Avenue. Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says they felt it would be a popular activity to offer the public, in the hopes of bringing more people to downtown Perry on the weekends. “Usually you pay for yoga, but this is going to be free. Kind of yoga in the park, but we’re yoga downtown. If you’ve got a yoga mat, bring it; we will have some extras, but definitely bring your own if you do. So just another way to bring people downtown and enjoy the downtown that we have, and meet new people and get active this summer!”

The class will be led by Wendy Goodall, whose services are being paid for by weekly sponsors to make sure everything stays free. Pasutti adds, if classes are going to be canceled due to weather, they will post that information on their Facebook page early Saturday morning.
