Registrations are open now for the Jefferson Public Library’s Teens Summer Reading Program.
All activities, games, movies and books are centered around this year’s theme of “Libraries Rock.” Library Director Jane Millard says each participant will get an activity packet to do throughout the summer and earn prizes along the way. Teens will formerly meet each Thursday in the library basement from 2:30 to 4:30pm from June 14th through August 2nd. Each meeting will have a different activity, game or movie. The final party will be held on August 2nd, after the library closes, from 6 to 8:30pm with a pizza party. Millard talks about a new activity for the teens to do.
“This year for the first time, they’re going to be filling out some book reviews and telling us what they think about those books that they read. So every year we try to introduce a few new things for them and we’re looking forward to their responses to what they read.”
All 6th through 12th grades are encouraged to join the program for free. Call the library at 386-2835 and stop by to sign up.
