The 2018 primary election will be held tomorrow, and the Dallas County Auditor’s Office reminds residents to refresh their memories of individuals on the ballots.

Dallas County voters will have several choices to make on the primary ballot, whether they’re Republican, Democrat, or Libertarian. For County elections, there are contested races for the Republican nomination for District 3 Supervisor, which includes incumbent Kim Chapman and challengers Robert Greenway and Gene Krumm; and the Democratic nomination for District 1 Supervisor, with Breanna Morman and Ryan Morrison vying to run against incumbent Republican Brad Golightly, who is unopposed in the primary. At the state level, Republicans in House District 20 will need to choose between Dodge Michael Perrigo and Ray “Bubba” Sorenson.

Meanwhile, the race for the Democratic nomination for Governor has five candidates, including: Cathy Glasson, Fred Hubbell, Andy McGuire, John Norris, and Ross Wilburn. Libertarian voters also have a contested race for the gubernatorial nominee with Marco Battaglia and Jake Porter vying for the opportunity to unseat incumbent Republican Governor Kim Reynolds, who is running unopposed in the primary. Finally, Democrats must choose a nominee for U.S. Congressional District 3, between Cindy Axne, Pete D’Alessandro, and Eddie Mauro. All other races on the Dallas County ballot are non-contested.

The Auditor’s Office also reminds people to double check where their polling site is for the primary. In Perry, there are three precincts, with One voting at the Perry Public Library, Two at the Public Safety Building, and Three at the McCreary Center. For Adel, Precinct One will vote at the Adel Public Library, Two will be at Faith Lutheran Church, and Colfax/Adel will be at Grace Lutheran Church. The polls will be open tomorrow from 7 a.m. – 9 p.m. Voters are reminded to bring their identification to their site, per new voter ID laws.
