Today Greene County voters will head to the polls to decide on their choices for their candidates heading into the general election in November.
A reminder of the polling locations for those needing to know where to vote. The First Jefferson Precinct will vote at the South Assembly Room of the Greene County Courthouse. The Second Jefferson Precinct votes at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Third Jefferson Precinct voting location is at the Greene County Community Center. The North Precinct will vote at the Churdan Community Center. The West Precinct’s location is the west entrance to the Scranton Community Center. Voters in the East Precinct must vote at St. Brigid’s Parish Center in Grand Junction. Finally, the Central Precinct location is at Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds.
All local races are uncontested in the primary election, except for Iowa House District 47. There are three Republican candidates including: Phil Thompson of Jefferson, Victoria Sinclair of Boone and Don Batt of Boone. The winner of that election will face Democratic candidate David Weaver of Rippey and Libertarian candidate Patrick Shaw of Boone in the general election in November.
