The Adel City Council will convene tonight in regular session.
The meeting will begin with proclamations and recognitions for the 50th anniversary of municipal home rule, an “E” Star Award for exports recognition, and the “Preservation At Its Best” Award for the Adel Historical Museum. Following that, there will be several department head reports, including possibly scheduling an additional Council meeting for later this month. New business will start with a discussion of a possible appointment for an open Council seat, which became vacant after former Council member Mike Haynes moved outside of Adel.
Following that, there will be discussion and possible action on the proposed Highway 169 widening project, which will include a presentation from McClure Engineering. Other items on the agenda include: updating the 2009 Comprehensive Plan; approval of four different easements relating to the stormwater utility improvement project; discussion of non-union City employee wages; a funds transfer to purchase a road grader; several change orders and pay requests for City projects; and appointments to various commissions and committees. Additionally, the Council will consider approving an application for the State Recreational Trails program for an upcoming trail improvement project.
The meeting is open to the public, and will be held tonight at 6 p.m. in Adel City Hall.
