Summer is a time for annual events and festivals throughout Adair and Guthrie County. County fairs are no exception. The Adair County Fair Board recently released the schedule of events for this year’s fair to be held next month. The fair starts on Wednesday, July 18th in Greenfield, and ends on Sunday, July 21st.
Wednesday is mostly set aside for weigh-ins, registrations, and judging. However, there is a free barbecue meal in the courtyard starting at 6pm. Wednesday evening concludes with the Little Miss and LIttle Mister Adair County presentations, the Adair County Fair King and Queen recognition, and a fireworks display. Thursday features more judging and animal shows with the All Star Monster Truck Tour starting at 7pm.
Friday is Senior Day and will kick off with the Adair County Farm Bureau serving cinnamon rolls, juice, and coffee in the courtyard starting at 7am, and going while supplies last. The Senior Citizen Event will be from 8:30-11am at the 4H/FFA Center and the Bob Bohm FARMily Feud Game Show begins at 2pm in the courtyard. Friday will conclude with Survivor Game Show, Ag Olympics, and Ninja Warrior Obstacle Course competitions.
Saturday begins at 7am with a free 4H/FFA breakfast at the food stand. In addition to the regular showcases, the Baby Show begins at 10am and the Junior and Senior Cowgirl Queen contest starts at noon. Saturday finishes with the Demo Derby at 7:30pm and the teen dance from 9pm-midnight. Contests conclude on Sunday with the Bill Riley Talent Show at 6pm and the Wright Rodeo Company at 7.
