The annual Stuart Good Egg Days festival kicked off Friday with activities in the afternoon and special awards in the evening. The Good Egg Days Committee handed out the annual Grand Marshall, Citizen of the Year, and Father of the Year awards. This year Carl Moyer of Karl Chevrolet, Eric Tiernan, and Joe Dwyer received those honors respectively.

Moyer thanked the crowd assembled for giving him the opportunity to bring his business to the community. Tiernan, co-owner of Town and Country Insurance, told the crowd that this achievement was a testament to the desire to do something to better the Stuart community. Tiernan is involved in several organizations and enterprises, including: All Saints Catholic Church, the Stuart Enterprise for Economic Development, and the Stuart Fremont Theatre. Dwyer is the co-owner of Dwyer Auto Body and was nominated for the Father of the Year Award by his wife. He thanked his family for their support.

There’s plenty of fun throughout the day, culminating in the street dance uptown at 9pm. Raccoon Valley Radio’s Big Red Radio will also be on hand to help celebrate the festival. We will be behind the KKRF Studio from 9am-2pm broadcasting live, playing music, and giving local announcements.
