With heavy rains barring down central Iowa’s neck Monday, the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers softball team made a last minute decision to flip the varsity game to a 5:30 p.m. first pitch against the Carroll Tigers. The decision turned out to be a good one as Class 4A No. 4 ADM played all seven innings against Carroll, sweeping the Raccoon River Conference season series with a 4-0 victory. ADM plated all four of their runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, highlighted by a two RBI single by sophomore Morgan Meyer. Sophomore Abbie Hlas earned the win in the circle, throwing a complete game, two hit shutout. Hlas walked two and struck out nine Tiger batters. The win improves ADM’s overall record to 24-4 and their Raccoon River Conference mark to 7-1. Weather permitting, the Tigers resume their league season today in Adel against the Bondurant-Farrar Bluejays. Listen to the game on Raccoon Valley Radio’s True Country K 107.9 FM beginning with the Veteran Powersports and Equipment Pregame Show at 7 p.m.
