road closure on mulberryContinuing rainfall has caused some water over the roadways in portions of Greene County.

County Engineer Wade Weiss tells Raccoon Valley Radio water over the roadways have been reported in the western half of Greene County. He says Secondary Roads crews have set up road barricades, as safety measures, at about a dozen different roads and intersections in the affected area. There is about four-inches of water in most of the barricaded sections of roads. Weiss expects the water to recede as the day goes along.

He reminds motorists that if they see water over the roadway to notify either the County Engineer’s office by calling 386-5650 or by calling the law enforcement center non-emergency number at 386-2136. The barricades will only remain until the water recedes off of the roadway.
