A special meeting will be held next week that will focus on child care opportunities in Greene County.

Early Childhood Iowa Area-Partnerships 4 Families, Child Care Resource & Referral, Greene County Early Learning Center, Greene County Iowa State University Extension, Jacque Andrew, and the Iowa Women’s Foundation are partnering together for a Building Community Solutions Collaborative effort. The focus of the meeting is to create innovative ways to promote child care investments in the community among businesses, community leaders, employees and organizations. The goal is that the investments would support a child’s healthy development and provide for a competitive business environment.

The public meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 27th from 11am to 1pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Jefferson. The deadline to register is Friday. Contact Partnerships 4 Families Area Director Cindy Duhrkopf to sign up. Her contact information can be found below.

Two additional meetings will be held for current or future child care providers. The first meeting is also on Wednesday from 6:30 to 8pm at the Greene County Extension office. The second meeting for providers is scheduled for Thursday, June 28th from 11am to 1pm also at the Extension office.  The deadline to register for providers is also on Friday, by contacting Carol Jensen.
