We have new information regarding flooding and severe weather for Greene, Dallas and Guthrie counties.

The National Weather Service has issued a river flood warning through mid-Thursday morning. The severity level has been increased from minor to moderate. According to the US Army Corp of Engineers River Gages website, most areas along the Raccoon River are above flood stage. As of 3pm, Buttrick Creek near Grand Junction, the Middle Raccoon River near Bayard and the North Raccoon River near Perry are all above flood stage.

A flash flood watch has been reduced until 7pm tonight for Greene, Dallas and Guthrie counties. The National Weather Service is anticipating at least 1 to 3-inches of rainfall throughout Wednesday and into Thursday, with some areas possibly seeing 4 to 6-inches of rainfall. Flash flooding could occur on several rural area roadways. All three counties are at a marginal risk for severe weather through the rest of today.
