This fall, Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Schools and the Adel Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting their Youth Football program, but the sign-up deadline is approaching.

There are five levels of competition, each with progressively more contact involved, ultimately leading to school-organized tackle football for 7th through 12th grade. Kindergarten through 2nd grade students can participate in local flag football; 3rd graders will have traveling flag football with soft helmets; 4th grade will feature full-padded flag football; 5th grade will move up to rookie tackle football; and 6th grade will be the start of full tackle football. The programs up through 5th grade will each be 8-on-8, with 11-on-11 in 6th grade.

The goal of the ADM Youth Football program is to ease kids into the sport by implementing age-appropriate skills each year. Organizers hope the model will teach kids a love of football, while also teaching them safe techniques. The kindergarten through 3rd grade leagues each cost $60 per participant, and will run from September 11th through October 23rd. The 4th grade level runs during that same time frame, but the cost is $150. The 5th and 6th grade programs also cost $150 per person, and will be from August 19th through October 20th.

The deadline to register children for the programs is June 30th. For more information or to sign up, click the link below.
