Dewey Field Renovation

An abundance of recent rain has done more than just fill the Raccoon River, it’s also delayed several projects around the City of Perry, including work on 18th Street.

Crews are still working to finish the sewer connections for Perry High School’s Dewey Field renovation, which means 18th Street between McKinley and Lucinda will remain closed for another week. Originally, the contractors hoped to have the road opened by June 15th, but issues with the weather initially pushed the date back to June 22nd. With the recent delays, the date has once again been moved, this time to July 2nd. The high school parking lot’s main entrance will remain closed as work is finished, so anyone needing to access the lot will need to use the McKinley Street entrance.

Through traffic will continue to be diverted to 16th Street while the work on 18th progresses. Anyone with questions is encouraged to reach out to Perry City Hall at 515-465-2481.
