Another local sponsor has stepped up to help anyone 18 and younger visit the Mahanay Memorial Carillon Tower in Jefferson for free.

Jefferson Hy-Vee is this year’s sponsor for youth admissions to the tower. Anyone ages 18 and under can visit and ride to the top of the tower for free. Adult admission is $3. Last year there were 2,123 people who were 18 and under that visited the tower, which was an increase of 322 over the previous year. Altogether, there were about 6,000 people that visited the tower in 2017.

The bell tower will continue to be open everyday from 10am to 4pm through Labor Day.
