The Perry softball team committed ten errors over two games Saturday losing to both Pella Christian and Grinnell. The errors cost them a chance at beating the Eagles in Saturday’s finale of the Pella Christian Tournament. Pella Christian scored rallied from a four run deficit to score five times in their final two at bats to beat Perry 5-4. The Jayettes committed a season high six errors in the field. Gabbie West led the way offensively finishing with a pair of hits and 3 RBI. Adrianna Eastman added two hits and a RBI. Alyssa Kruger threw three scoreless innings allowing only four hits. Jayna Kenney took the loss surrendering five runs and one earned in three innings of work. She allowed four hits and two walks.
Perry lost the first game of the day falling to Grinnell 12-4. Kruger went six innings allowing four earned runs and two walks while striking out two. The defense was sloppy with four errors allowing eight earned runs. Johanna Diw led the way finishing with three hits including her 5th home run of the year. She finished with three RBI’s. The Tigers outhit Perry 13-9.
The Jayettes return to the home diamond tonight for a 7:00 varsity game against 3rd ranked Carlisle.
