Humane Society of Perry

Every year, June is recognized as National Adopt a Shelter Cat Month, and the Perry Humane Society is getting into the spirit.

Humane Society President Breanna Morman explains why June has been given this distinction, and what the Perry shelter has planned to help their cats get adopted. “This is a month that marks the height of the feline population. So it is kitten season, and we are feeling it full-force here in Perry. And so in honor of Adopt a Shelter Cat Month, the Humane Society of Perry is offering the opportunity to name your adoption price, now through the end of this month. And this is available for any and all cats that we have that are available for adoption. So they have been vetted and they’re ready to go!”

Morman says currently they have around 15 cats ready to be adopted right now, with many kittens that will be available soon. To help encourage people to take a look at their cats, the Humane Society has started what they’re calling “Feline Fridays,” where they feature a cat currently in the shelter in hopes of finding its forever home.
