A severe thunderstorm passed through the southeastern portion of Dallas County Monday evening, prompting live storm coverage from Raccoon Valley Radio’s Severe Weather Action Team.

At 7:46 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was detected by the National Weather Service over West Des Moines. Hazards included 60-mile-per-hour straight-line wind gusts, torrential rainfall, and pea-sized hail. Portions of Madison, Polk, and Warren counties were also included. The warning was allowed to expire at 8:17, and there was no reports of damage in the area. Four members of the Raccoon Valley Radio Severe Weather Action Team participated in the live storm coverage, along with Weather Eye meteorologists.
