The Stuart City Council will meet in a special session tonight.
The Council will revisit recommendations for Hotel/Motel Tax recipients. At the previous meeting, Council Member Mick Askren asked the Council to delay the awarding of the funds as he felt more organizations should be considered for the funding.
The Council will also consider a resolution to pursue a development agreement between the City and Karl Chevrolet of Stuart. The agreement will include annual appropriation tax increment payments as an incentive for the project. They will then look to set a public hearing on entering general obligation bond practices not to exceed $2.4 million. Other action items include: employee wages for the upcoming fiscal year, a reimbursement for the Stuart Police Department, installing a Stop sign on Cemetery Hill, and an extension to the City’s sewer and water lines.
The meeting begins at 6:30pm in the Council Chambers at Stuart City Hall.
