Events continue this week for summer reading programs and exhibits in libraries around Guthrie County.
Cedar Rapids storyteller Darrin Crow will entertain all ages at the Stuart Public Library on Friday from 10-11am. He will tell three folk tales from Europe and the United States, all with rocky settings to fit with the reading program’s theme, “Libraries Rock.”
The “Hometown Teams” Smithsonian exhibit is now open at the Mary J. Barnett Memorial Library in Guthrie Center. The exhibit is open Monday-Thursday during normal library hours, Friday and Saturday from 9am-4pm, and Sunday from 1-4pm. There will also be a program with the Science Center of Iowa on Thursday at 1:30pm, preschool story time at 10:30am on Friday, and Iowa State University Day on Saturday from 11am-1pm.
On Thursday, the Panora Public Library will be hosting a Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) program for 2nd-5th graders from 2-3pm. On Friday there will also be story time at the lIbrary for pre-kindergarten through 1st grade students from 10-11am. Finally, The Casey Public Library will host the Science Center of Iowa on Wednesday from 1-2pm.
