springbrook-state-parkSpringbrook State Park will once again be hosting a wildlife camp through the University of Iowa. The Eagle Camp is July 16-20 and today is the registration deadline. The camp is open to students entering 3rd-7th grade and cost is $150.

Iowa Department of Natural Resources Training Specialist Anne Riordan talks about the basic structure of the camps. “They’re going to be five days long, all day long from 8:30-3:30, featuring different things at every camp. Specific things to each area but also changing a little bit in case kids want to attend more than one camp.”

Activities during the camp include: studying natural wildlife, exploring natural habitats, learning about park history and geology, and engaging in other outdoor activities such as hiking and canoeing. This is one of ten camps throughout the state during the summer and the second at Springbrook.
