The Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach office in Guthrie Center is benefitting from an extra set of hands this summer. Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center High School student Anna Lauritsen is the Program Assistant for the summer activities and this year’s Guthrie County Fair.
Lauritsen explains why she was interested in the opportunity. “Last summer I volunteered here over the summer and I just really liked it. I love doing stuff with 4H and with the different kids, as a 4H member and FFA member myself, I just kind of know what the program is about and I wanted to get more involved with it.”
She says her favorite project is showing cattle. Her family owns Lauritsen Cattle Company in Exira. To hear more about her participation with Extension, listen to today’s Let’s Talk Guthrie County program.
