Thursday, June 28th
3:15am: Laurie Higgins reported a Criminal Mischief to her property at 503 East Monroe Street. Someone had broken out a basement window. The officer is investigating.
8:51am: An officer began a Shoplifting Investigation after a report from the business at 1801 North Elm Street.
9:59am: A caller advised of a loose dog near State and Maple Streets. The officer found the animal on the owner’s property.
11:26am: A resident at Greenewood Homes advised of people sitting in the parking lot, possibly youth. The officer advised the department would watch for the event occurring and speak to the youngsters.
2:35pm: An officer located a loose dog near McKinley and Wilson Ave. The officers were unable to get near the dog, as it continued to run from them.
2:41pm: Derek Pierson reported an audible alarm sounding at a residence in the 800 Block of West Monroe Street. The officer could not get a response at the door of the residence. They contacted the owner of the residence at work and they arrived to shut the alarm off. It was sounding due to a low battery.
3:49pm: Ron Clipperton reported a female going door to door in the 100 Block of East Central Avenue selling phone and cable services. The officer contacted the female a short time later and learned she is working in the area for Direct TV. The officer advised her to register at City Hall before conducting anymore door to door sales in town.
4:14pm: A deputy requested assistance from officers at ER with an unruly patient.
6:21pm: An officer spoke with Steven Wetzel concerning a Civil Property Issue occurring at 204 South Walnut Street.
9:23pm: Devin Wolters reported an arrow sticking in his roof at 306 South Locust Street.
9:23pm: Angela Murphy reported fireworks being set off in the 300 Block of South Maple Street. The officer spoke to a resident in the area and advised him he would face a Citation if he shot off any more.
10:02pm: An officer responded to a Medical Alarm sounding in the 1000 Block of Washington Street. A nurse was present and assistance form the officer was not needed.
10:31pm: Anthony Demello reported fireworks being shot off near Shopko. The officer did not locate the source.
Friday, June 29th
9:39am: Deb Bridgewater reported a deceased cat on her porch at 604 West Lincoln Way Street. The officer bagged the animal and properly disposed of it.
1:47pm: Nicole Johnson spoke to an officer about unwanted contact from an ex-boyfriend. The officer learned Johnson was also contacting the male. Both parties were told to end contact with the other.
3:27pm: Danene Janssen reported two stray dogs at 207 East Vest Street. The animals were returned to an area owner and a time period given to license the animals.
6:28pm: Jan Black reported a Missing Juvenile from 708 West Harrison Street. The juvenile male returned home at 2000 hrs.
9:13pm: An officer spoke with a subject shooting fireworks off in the 200 Block of East McKinley Street and advised him City Ordinances prohibit this. He was unaware and stopped.
10:24pm: An officer confiscated fireworks from residents in the 300 Block of North Pinet Street. The subjects ran into the house as the officer approached them. The officer believed they were aware of the ordinance prohibiting the shooting of fireworks, or they would not have run inside as he approached them.
10:52pm: ER requested an officer for a Dog Bite. The bite occurred on 06/28/2018, in the 500 Block of North Chestnut Street. The officer is investigating the reported event.
11:00pm: Megan Patterson of TN. Reported she had received a call from a hospital that her brother was in the facility in critical condition. He is currently working on the wind mill project in Greene County and staying in Jefferson. The officer determined he was not in our hospital and relayed the information to his family.
Saturday, June 30th
5:26am: An officer assisted EMS with a Medical Call in the 800 Block of West South Street.
10:04am: Lila Mart reported her Carbon Monoxide Alarm going off at 1000 West Adams Street, #41. The officer contacted a maintenance person for the complex to change the batteries in the alarm.
12:57pm: Paul Nelson reported a missing fridge and snow blower from the yard at 300 South Pinet Street.
2:37pm: Susan Martin reported subjects acting strange in the 1000 Block of West Adams Street. The officer did not locate anyone in the area.
4:33pm: The sheriff’s office requested an officer to check on a reported vehicle in the ditch near 255th and P Ave. The officer located an area where a vehicle had entered the ditch, but the vehicle was gone.
4:58pm: A Traffic Stop in the 1200 Block of North Elm Street resulted in Danielle Dalton of
Des Moines being cited for, “Driving While Suspended, and Fail to Provide Proof of Security Liability.”
5:23pm: A caller advised of fireworks being set off in the 400 Block of East Lincoln Way. The officer explained the ordinance prohibiting this to a group of subjects in the area.
8:52pm: An officer spoke to a subject in the 700 Block of South Wilson Avenue about setting off fireworks.
9:32pm: Charles Hansen requested an officer to check on his fireworks stand in the 1000 Block of North Elm Street. He was afraid the storm may have blown his display tent down and he is out of town. The officer found all to be fine at the stand.
9:59pm: A Traffic Stop at Elm and Russell Streets resulted in Ricky Hubby of Redfield being cited for, “Fail to Obey Stop Sign.”
11:02pm: A Traffic Stop in the 1500 Block of North Elm Street resulted in Robert Hinton of Kimball being cited for, “Fail to Display Registration.”
Sunday, July 1st
12:28am: A Traffic Stop in the 500 Block of North Elm Street resulted in the arrest of Richard Jessie Duran, 45 of Panama, IA. For, “Driving While Barred – Aggravated, Fail to Provide Proof of Security Liability, and Improper Brake Light.”
1:44am: Sparky’s One Stop reported a possible intoxicated subject driving away for 606 Hwy. 30 East. The officer later located the unoccupied vehicle at 777 Wild Rose Lane.
9:55am: Casey’s reported a male attempting to cash a large check at 508 North Elm Street. The subject had already left the business.
11:25am: A male juvenile came to the LEC and advised he wanted to speak with his DHS Case Worker about being punished by his parents. The officer made some calls and eventually returned the juvenile to his parents.
12:33pm: Whitney Erickson spoke with an officer about unwanted contact from a family member. The officer spoke to the subject and advised him to end the contact. He advised he would do so.
4:18pm: A Traffic Stop at Wall and Grimmell resulted in Hayley Brown of Jefferson being cited for, “Operation without Registration.”
5:49pm: Carrie Trampel requested an unwanted male to be removed form 808 West Monroe Street. The officer spoke to the male, who left without incident.
7:14pm: Dollar General reported a possible Counterfeit $100.00 Bill being received at 104 North Locust Street. The office found the bill to be legal currency.
7:41pm: An officer checked on an Alarm at the ATM in the 200 Block of West Washington Street. The officer found nothing wrong with the ATM.
8:08pm: A Traffic Stop in the 200 Block of West State Street resulted in Chandler Truster of Boone being cited for, “Driving While Suspended.”
9:31pm: Mike Wyatt reported two juveniles skateboarding on the street in the 800 Block of South Elm Street. The officer warned the two juveniles for the incident.
10:31pm: A Traffic Stop in the 800 Block of East Lincoln Way Street resulted in Brenee Wilkinson of Jefferson being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
11:06pm: An officer spoke to subjects shooting off fireworks in the 500 Block of East Lincoln Way Street.
