A Bondurant man was arrested on several charges last week, after being pulled over for speeding by the Adel Police Department.

Last Wednesday, officers pulled over a vehicle driven by 26-year-old Cody Jay McKenzie. It was then discovered that McKenzie was in possession of weapons, and was operating the vehicle without the owner’s consent. As a result, he was taken into custody on charges including: second degree theft – theft of motor vehicle parts or accessories, a class D felony; carrying weapons, an aggravated misdemeanor; and driving while license revoked, a simple misdemeanor. He was also cited for speeding, improper use of registration, and violation of financial liability coverage.

McKenzie was taken to the Dallas County Jail, and had his initial appearance in court the same day. He will have a preliminary hearing and bond review on July 6th. He is currently being held in jail on $5,000 bond. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
