whiterock conservancyAn annual bike race will once again make its way to Whiterock Conservancy in Coon Rapids. The Liberty Bell Cup, part of the Iowa Mountain Bike Championship Series, will take place on Friday and Saturday.

There will be races for all skill levels, ranging from kids and novice to marathon. The weekend will begin on Friday at 6:30pm with a beginner friendly mountain bike skills and race etiquette clinic at the Star Field Campground with Recreational Equipment Incorporated of West Des Moines. That will be followed by a short fun ride and campfire sessions.

Day-of registration for the Liberty Bell Cup opens on Saturday at 9am and is $35 for adults and free for those 18 and under. The first race starts at 10am while the second begins at noon. Award winners will be announced at 3pm.

Spectators are welcome to attend for free and there are also free food and beverages. Volunteers are also needed to help with the Fig Avenue road crossing and to help the racers count laps completed.
