cultural_affairsA few communities in Dallas and Guthrie counties recently received grant funds from the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs.

Two projects and organizations in Perry received grant funds. Art on the Prairie received $10,000 for their Furrowed Fields Sculpture Project. According to the organization, it is a public sculpture that pays tribute to the history of farming, industry and railroads in Perry. Hometown Heritage in Perry received $5,000 for their capacity building grant to continue operating expenses of the organization.

Two other communities in Guthrie County received grant funds. The Guthrie County Arts Council in Guthrie Center received $5,000 in grant funds to be used for operational expenses of the organization. Project Restore Foundation in Stuart received $3,000 for their musical instruments of the world project.

The Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs awarded over $2 million in grant funds to 200 projects statewide for the 2019 fiscal year.
