Casey’s annual summer celebration will continue with several events this afternoon.

Kids will be able to cool off starting at 12:30pm with Kids Water Fights at Abram Rutt City Park. The Homemade Pie contest begins at 2:30pm at the Visitor Center. All entrants are asked to bring their pies to the center before the contest begins.

The activities continue at the Visitor Center with the Citizen of the Year and Distinguished Service Award Reception. During the reception there will be homemade ice cream and pie and live music provided by the Bud Harris Alumni Band. The band includes: Mark Whetstone on drums, Tim Newman on vocals and percussion, Sam Littler on bass guitar, John Littler on keyboard, and lead guitarist Chem Ellings. The results of the photo contest will also be announced during the reception.

The beer garden opens at 7pm at the Casey Fire Hall and the dance will follow, featuring music by Off the Cuff.
