Area farmers may want to place a training session at the end of this year on their calendars. The Guthrie County ISU Extension and Outreach Office will be hosting an FDA Produce Safety Rule training session on Tuesday, December 11th.
Registration begins at 8:30am with the course to follow from 9am-5pm. The course is $20 for in-state and $120 for out-of-state growers. Farms or facilities may register an additional person at no charge if they both share materials. Participants must be present for the full eight hours to receive course credit and the registration deadline is November 30th.
The course satisfies the safety rule requirement for all commercial farmers.This training is particularly for producers who grow fruits and vegetables. The registration includes a manual, certificate of completion and lunch. More information can be found by clicking on the link below:
