Hotel Pattee was the site of this month’s Perry Chamber Coffee event, and for many in attendance, it was their first opportunity to see some of the changes made under the new management.

Attendees helped themselves to coffee and conversation in the hotel’s bar area, before Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti gathered everyone to introduce General Manager Aaron Lenz. Lenz talked about the changes he and new Owner Tom Maxwell have been working on since taking the hotel over in March. One aspect is the new menu, which is continually being updated and improved. Lenz also mentioned their work on the building’s infrastructure, such as repairs to the roof. Pasutti then talked about some upcoming events, like next week’s Friday Fest, and also mentioned improvements she’s making to the Chamber itself, such as the online directory.

Other attendees also gave updates on what they’re working on at the moment, and upcoming events. Lenz then invited people for a brief tour of the new Frio ice cream shop, which he says they hope to have opened by mid-August. The Chamber of Commerce hosts the coffee events the second Friday of every month, as a way to bring members and the public together to network and learn. Next month’s event will be hosted by the Raccoon River Valley Bike Company.
