The Jefferson Police Department recently released its statistics from the latest special Traffic Enforcement Program (sTEP) Wave.
From July 5th through the 8th, officers issued 16 citations and 73 warnings for motorists. The most citations were given for stop sign and/or stop light violations (3) and driving with a suspended or revoked license (3). Other citations included: seat belts, speeding, registration violations, dark windows, no proof of insurance, vehicle equipment and other traffic violations. The most warnings were issued for vehicle equipment violations with 21.
