acgcEven in the offseason, ACGC athletes are putting in the hard work. Charger athletes broke six weightlifting records recently.

Incoming senior Ben Kingery set two new records. The first is the squat in the 176-205 lb weight class, setting a mark of 475 lbs and smashing the old record of 365 from 2013. He also sets a new hang clean record in the same weight class with a mark of 255 lbs, breaking the previous record of 205 in 2013.

Incoming senior Mike Ure and incoming junior Quynton Younker also broke a record from 2013. They both share the new hang clean record for the over 205 lb class with a mark of 240lbs. The previous record was 225 lbs. Incoming junior Bryce Littler rounds out the broken boys records, setting a new hang clean record for the 175 lb class by posting 225 lbs, ten more than the previous record in 2015.

On the girls side, incoming sophomore Mady Kelsey breaks the squat record, notching a 300 and clearing the 2015 mark by 55 lbs. Incoming senior Madison McDermott also broke her previous record in the hang clean from 2015 with a posting of 140 lbs.

Several ACGC athletes also posted second best marks, including: Younker (bench press-295 lbs), Savana Fuller (hang clean-135 lbs), and Kelsey (bench press-140 lbs).
