The Iowa high school softball season is over for 2018 and Greene County faced some of the best teams the state had to offer. Coach Tom Kennedy’s Rams were 8-19 for the season including going 0-6 vs. State Tournament teams. The Rams lost all three meetings with Class 3A State runner-up Roland-Story (Story City). They lost their only meeting with Class 4A State runner-up ADM (Adel), and dropped their lone contest with Newton, the third place team in 4A. Greene County also lost to 1A qualifier Martensdale-St. Mary’s.
The Rams are hoping for better things next season as 70% of the starting line up is eligible to return. The Heart of Iowa Activities Conference all-conference teams will be announced on KG98 tomorrow, as well as being listed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
