Big changes are coming with the garbage pick-up procedures in Perry, and the changes will also affect recycling in the City.
As of August 6th, when the new routes and procedures take effect, the City will no longer collect residential recycling curbside. Instead, residents are to bring their recyclables to any of three drop-off locations throughout the City. Sites include: the lot directly east of the Public Safety Building at 908 Willis Avenue; the main parking lot at the McCreary Community Building at 1800 Pattee Street; and on the south side of the high school football field parking lot on Warford Street between 16th and 18th streets.
The Public Works Department will have eight-yard containers located at each location, and they are for recyclables only. They also remind people recycling drop-off is only for residents who have garbage service with the City of Perry. Anyone with questions is encouraged to reach out to City Hall at 515-465-2481.
