The Jefferson Fire Department is addressing a recent mailer that’s been circulating in the area.

Fire Chief Jack Williams tells Raccoon Valley Radio a mailer from a Jefferson, Kansas fire department has been sent to area residents asking for donations. He wants to assure residents that the mailer is for a fire department in Jefferson, Kansas and not for the Jefferson, Iowa Fire Department. He adds that they don’t have a mailer out asking for donations as this time.

He also believes the mailer to be legitimate, but that once again, the local fire department isn’t associated with the mailer.
