A software development company, which will be locating in Jefferson, has been acquired by an international company.
According to the company’s website, Pillar Technology was sold to Accenture Industry X.0 earlier this month. Accenture helps companies in the automotive, high-tech, and energy sectors shift from their current platforms to digital products and services. Accenture serves 120 countries.
With the acquisition, Chris Deal, who works with Pillar Technology, confirms to Raccoon Valley Radio that The Forge project in Jefferson remains unchanged. He says it was part of the negotiation process and Pillar wanted to keep their promise of having their first rural office located in Jefferson. Deal adds that the original plan that was presented with the academy and training programs also remains unchanged.
He notes that the project timeline is on target. They are anticipating to apply for state and federal historic tax credits soon, once their design plans are approved by the National Parks Association. If they are approved for tax credits, construction can begin on the office building that’s located at 204 and 206 East State Street.
