Parents and guardians of elementary and middle school children are reminded that there are open house opportunities happening Monday in the Greene County School District.
The elementary open house will take place from 3:30 to 7pm. Principal Scott Johnson talks about what will be happening that evening.
“The open house is going to be just a time for parents to come and see their child’s teacher for the first time. They’ll have a few forms to fill out at that time. They can bring in supplies that they have if they want to at that time also. It’s just kind of a meet and greet night.”
There will also be new student orientation held at 5:30pm at the elementary building that same night.

The middle school will also have an open house on Monday from 3:30 to 5:30pm. Principal Shawn Zanders encourages parents and students to stop by the main office to pick up schedules, locker assignments, drop off any school supplies and meet teachers that evening. Parents and students are also encouraged to take self-guided tours of the building so they get familiar with how their child’s day is going to be. There are two new teachers in the building with science teacher Grant Haywood and social studies teacher Matt Paulsen.
