Severe weather chances increase today for the Raccoon River Valley area.

According to the National Weather Service, the northwestern corner of Dallas, the northern three-quarters of Guthrie and all of Greene County are in a marginal risk for severe weather. The rest of Dallas and Guthrie counties are in a slight risk. The main threats with the severe weather are large hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes. Heavy rainfall might also be expected locally. The peak time frame for severe weather potential is mid to late this afternoon.
