A severe thunderstorm passed through Dallas County midday today, but didn’t stay for long.
At 11:34 a.m., a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for north-central Dallas County, as well as portions of Boone, Story, and Hamilton counties. Cities affected included Perry, Bouton, and Woodward. Threats included quarter-sized hail, which was confirmed by trained weather spotters near Berkley in Boone County, as well as heavy rainfall. The storm was moving very quickly, though, and left Dallas County at around 11:50, before the warning expired in the other three affected counties. There was no reports of damage sustained in the listening area.
Four members of the Raccoon Valley Radio Severe Weather Action Team took part in live coverage as the storm passed through. According to the National Weather Service, Dallas is still under a slight risk for severe weather through the rest of the day, and if that happens you can count on Raccoon Valley Radio to keep you informed and safe.
