The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.
The Board continued an ongoing discussion of rezoning for a property in Herndon. The County’s Planning and Zoning Commission recommended that the property be reclassified from Agricultural to Heavy Industrial. The Board decided to table their decision until they can make sure the request can be granted. They did however set a public hearing for the request for Tuesday, September 18th at 9am.
Transfer Station Executive Director Jotham Arber and Facilities Manager Brandon Thompson informed the Board that the fencing project at the station has been completed. They then discussed restructuring areas for tire storage to improve environmental health and safety. The Board concluded the meeting with continued discussion on compensation for Township Trustees and Clerks. They approved an increase to $30 per meeting for trustees and $150 annual for clerks, effective July 1, 2019.
