While the school year just began in Guthrie County, a Panora educator is being honored for her previous academic achievements. Panorama mathematics teacher Robyn Ploeger was recently named the Teacher of the Year for the American Air Force Association (AFA) Gen. Charles Horner Chapter as well as the State of Iowa AFA.

Ploeger was recognized in part for her eleven years of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education. She was nominated for the award by Chief Master Sergeant James Holwenger of the 132nd Wing of the Iowa Air National Guard.

Chapter representatives will present the award to Ploeger during a school assembly tomorrow afternoon at the secondary building. The assembly is free and open to the public.
