Though the ACGC football team fell Friday night at Woodward Academy, the Chargers did have one bright spot. Senior running back Ben Kingery tallied 140 yards against the Knights, just five fewer than Logan Brincks’ performance against West Central Valley to open the 2017 season.
Kingery, who holds the single season record in rushing yards with 448, is on pace to set that mark in week five. Through the first two games this season, Kingery is averaging just over five yards per carry and a total of 196 yards. His night against Woodward Academy was his third rushing performance with 100 yards or more. Three of those four distinctions come from number 24.
Senior running back Gabe Rowley also had a career high for rushing yards in a game at 60. Freshmen Gavin Cornelison, Charlie Crawford, and Reid Rumelhart also finished with positive yardage on the ground against the Knights. The Chargers will hope to build on that as they search for their first win of the season and at home against the Noadaway Valley Wolverines this Friday night.
