Two races into the cross country season and West Central Valley junior Louden Foster is showing his desire to run with the lead pack. Foster has finished as the runner-up medalist in both races this fall, including at last Thursday’s Wildcat Cross Country Classic. Both of his 5K race times were clocked under 18 minutes in duration. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network was on hand for the Wildcat Cross Country Classic and spoke with West Central Valley head cross country coach Dave Hammond after the meet. Hammond shared that Foster put a lot of miles on his legs this summer in preparation for the season. “(He) ran several 50K races in Colorado and around (the Midwest),” Hammond said, “He loves to run and continues to get stronger, better, and faster.”

Foster entered the week as Class 1A 22nd ranked runner. West Central Valley Cross Country teams resume their season Thursday in the Greene County Cross Country Invitational. Hear an interview with Hammond on the Wahl McAtee Tire and Service Center Guthrie County PM Sports Page, tonight at 6 p.m. on True Country K 107.9.
